The Process

City Invincible provided full professional services including programming, land planning, approvals, architectural & interior design, construction documentation, furniture procurement and construction administration. “CI” led frequent meetings with educators and a diverse professional team that resulted in the creation of a welcoming, “learning laboratory.”

Outcome

The Gateway Head Start Facility is a unique “vertical” school situated on a small urban site. Outdoor play areas are located on each of the 3 floors. Interior building systems and environmentally friendly, sustainable features are exposed to educate children about the inter-workings of their school and bright, fun interior finishes highlight the building features and serve as way-finding devices.
